Kekova Break

We said it will be the life around Fıstık the cat but sometimes his parents are fooling him at home and giving a short break to the life with him.

Since months I was planning to go to a little town called Kaş which is about 200Km. away from Antalya city center. The distance was quite long for a weekend break but the people who experienced the place, especially the boat trips in Kekova Bay sounded very nice. So even without planning in prior I decided saturday afternoon and we started our journey.

After 4 hours of unexpected long but with a lot of view travel we arrived the cute town. It was founded between sea and the mountain very tightly and this was giving to the town a nice appearance. (By the way the picture on the left has been taken and HDR'ed by me at the entrance of Beymelek town.)

In front of the town there was a big peninsula called Çukur Bağ. We decided to explore this place first and settled in a Boutique Hotel called Mermaid Hotel. We arrived a bit late to Kaş, so after a short trip in town center, we difficultly reached to our bed.

Next day we woke up early to have breakfast and to join the boat trip that was arranged also by our Hotel owner. The prices for Hotel and Trip was both 50 YTL per person. Not so cheap but ok for a such weekend break.

After the nice breakfast next to the swimming pool, a midibus came to pick us up to take to the üçağız village (kekova) that was 40 minutes away. We picked up other tourists on the way and finally reached to our boat in Kekova.

It was a nice, long and satisfying trip with 6-7 stops from 11 o'clock to 18:00 including lunch break, sunken city and Kaş castle trips. The creeks we visited all had crystal clear water and some ruins as well. In one creek there was even a cold spring water in the sea and our guide chilled everybody with his bucket.

At the end of the day we came back to our hotel tired but relaxed and enjoed very much. It could be perfect if we didnt have to go back all the way to Antalya but no chance. Work doesnt wait. We had our nice memories and lots of pictures that you can see some of them here. More in here.

P.S. We probably even wouldn't remember that the our break coincidentally in our 1st wedding anniversary if our parents didnt congratulate us. What a nice couple we are :)

The most difficult thing for me was climbing on the castle, but the view which I saw from there was really magnifisant and it was woth to climb. I liked this journey and wish we have time more to stay in a such beuatiful place.
